It has all the right details like, big engines, nice lines and it’s just plain fun to drive. So what did Chevrolet do to make it better? They made a truck out of it and the El Camino was born. You might think it’s a strange idea until you see it and then it makes perfectly good sense. Chevrolet designers really did a great job at mating a truck bed to the rear of the Chevelle. It came out seamless. The best thing about the El Camino was by deleting the rear seat you gave it an old time coupe feel. Now there was only room for two. But by still being a Chevelle you also get all the power that comes with it. So that means, you get the small block, the big block, four speeds and all sorts of other goodies. They should have done it sooner. But as the story goes, even though the El Camino was neat little car (truck?) you still had the infamous classic car problems. The radios, well, kinda sucked. You got crackly sound, bad reception and not enough power. So what should you do? You get your butt over to Vintage Car Radio for all your El Camino needs.
